When the weather cools down, the fun is just heating up! Our Fall & Winter Camps & Classes Guide brings together the best seasonal programs in the valley so you can keep your kids — and yourself — engaged, inspired, and active all season long.

Whether you’re looking for weekly art classes, hands-on science experiences, community reading challenges, or skill-building workshops, you’ll find something here for every schedule and budget. Each listing includes ages, dates, costs, and registration info so you can sign up with ease and make the most of the colder months.

Fall Classes (Sept–Oct)

  • Weekly classes for 6–8 weeks (45–120 min each)

  • Mostly for 3rd–8th graders, with some options for preK–2nd and 9th–12th

Offerings include:

  • Intro to Theater–1 (required for show participation)

  • Elective Classes (dance, sewing, acting, prop construction, stage makeup, voice, set building, puppetry, etc.)

  • Performance Classes (Showstoppers – ensemble role in a Spotlight Production, meets weekly, includes show week)

Fall Spotlight Show

  • For 4th–8th graders

  • September–October

  • Rehearsals 2–3x/week + at-home practice & parent volunteer hours

Winter Classes (Jan–Feb)

  • Same format as fall classes

  • Primarily for 3rd–8th graders, with some options for preK–2nd and 9th–12th

RED GROUP — AGES 4-6

  • 30-minute sessions

  • Wednesday/Friday: Group 1 4:15–4:45 PM or Group 2 5:00–5:30 PM

Kids will:

  • Learn athletic and technical pre-rally skills to begin

  • Use games and drills to learn to rally at controlled speeds with red balls (25% bounce) on a 36-foot court

  • Learn beginning fundamentals for forehands, backhands, volleys, serves, and overheads.

ORANGE GROUP — AGES 7-10

  • 1 hr 15-minute sessions

  • Monday/Friday: 4:00–5:15 PM

What to know:

  • Play on a 60-foot court with orange balls (50% of normal bounce height)

  • Strokes begin to become more complete with body movements that lead to arm actions

  • Spin, ac, speed, and direction of shots can be manufactured and manipulated

  • Students can learn to keep score and play a mini set, as well as play with friends and family.

GREEN GROUP — AGES 7-10

  • 1 hr 15-minute sessions

  • Wednesday/Friday 4:00–5:15 PM

What to know:

  • Played on either a 60 or 78-foot court with green balls (75% of normal bounce)

  • Players are starting to develop the ability to play offense and defense with each shot

  • Different playing styles can be used based on opponents’ strengths and weaknesses

  • Continued development of the technique for each stroke to make the strokes more dynamic and efficient

YELLOW GROUP — AGES 10+

  • 1 hr 15-minute sessions

  • Tuesday/Thursday: 4:00–5:15 PM

What to know:

  • For older students who are new to the sport

  • will first be taught the same skills as red and orange players, using a standard ball on a full court

  • Once rally skills are established, stroke technique and game play will be further emphasized

  • Students will be able to maintain controlled rally with peers and start to create spin and control the direction of shots

    • Paper log participants receive a small prize

    • Online participants earn digital raffle tickets for prize drawings

Community Reading Goals:

  • Each branch has a community-specific reading goal

  • Progress is displayed on a large “reading thermometer”

  • Report your finished books in person to help your community reach its goal

Robotics Afterschool Program (Grades 3–8)
